Steak Dry Rub

From The Wooden Skillet

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Tsp salt
  • 1 Tsp coffee
  • 1/4 Tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 Tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 Tsp coriander
  • 1/4 Tsp onion powder
  • ground cinamon

Yum...!!!

What to do with them...

Mix all of the ingredients together and then rub it on your steaks. This amount covers 2 large-ish 1-inch thick steaks.

BBQ-ing Steak

First, let the steaks sit open on a plate in the refrigerator for two days. One day works, but 2 really does the trick. Take them out of the fridge at least 1/2 an hour before you put them on the grill. An hour is even better. Rub them with the recipe above, then go out and start the grill.

Place the steaks over direct heat and let sit for 3 to 4 minutes, flip and do the same thing again. You want to heat the steak to just a little over 130 degrees (my personal preference), so if it's not there after the 6 or 8 minutes you cook them, move them away from direct heat and close the grill until your target temperature is met.
