Dogs

We have huskies, so guess what? I have a lot of pictures of huskies.

Some interesting husky information...

The word "husky" originated from the word "Huskimo" referring to aboriginal Arctic people. The word "Eskimo" is how English sailors pronounced the word in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Nearly all dogs trace their genetic origins to the gray wolf. However, several Arctic breeds show a genetic closeness with the now-extinct Taimyr wolf of North Asia. The Siberian Husky and Greenland Dog (which are also historically associated with Arctic human populations) and to a lesser extent, the Shar-Pei and the Finnish Spitz, all trace their origins back to the Taimyr wolf.

Squirrels

We live in an area with a lot of squirrels. I like to feed the little guys out in the front yard so I have quite a few shots of them eating and playing together. Interestingly there is a large population of albino squirrels around here as well, so many of them find their way into my viewfinder. Albino squirrels are very rare in most places. Around here they're a dime a dozen!

Nature

Before the pandemic I was out taking pictures nearly every day. That's ended over the course of the last two years, but it'll start back up. Meanwhile here are some shots, mainly from Arizona, but many from Minnesota and elsewhere.
