June 13, 1987 Ventura Co. Fair

Ventura Co. Fairgrounds

I was there for one of the shows at the fairgrounds that year, not sure if it was this one or not, but this one's REALLY good!

I do have one "different" memory of the show I was at, whether it was this one or not. As my friends and I walked into the show area after showing our tickets, I saw a wallet on the ground under some tables. I walked over and picked it up, opened it, and saw a fairly large stack of $20 bills inside. I folded it back up and continued walking into the show. There was a Ventura County Sherrif standing right at the entrance, so I walked up to him, a bit stoned, and told him I'd just found this wallet and there's a bunch of money inside. He took it, looked inside, looked back at me, and said something to the effect of "Oh my god, the great things I've heard about you guys are really true!" He thanked me, shook my hand, put the wallet in his pocket, and said he would give it to the crew running the show. One of my only good experiences with a cop!
